BIOGRAPHY

Lillian Leigh Constance is a New York-based script writer for the screen and stage.

For television, Lillian is writing a four-season bilingual drama series set in Buenos Aires from 1964-1984, titled La Gringa. The pilot script was developed under the mentorship of Paul Ashton (Head of Film & TV at Creative UK, Acadamy and BAFTA nominated shorts), and was workshoped with Ryan Calais Cameron (For Black Boys Who…) at Rosemary’s House Writing Retreat. Her two other pilots are Ministries; a dark comedy about a hospital chaplain who moonlights as a dominatrix, and College Moms; a dramedy set in 2035 about a radical solution to plummeting birth rates. She is also developing a mockumentary limited-series called Stripping 101.

Poppy’s Aquarium, her animated short film about childhood sexual abuse, was included in Rianne Pictures “Rianne Reads” scheme and earned her a spot in the Bright Little Labs (a Warner Bros Company) Creative Pool.

At the University of Oxford, she studied playwriting under the tutelage of Angie Johnson. Lillian received the Excellence in the Study of Medieval Literature Award as well as the Marie Lousie Whitman Scholarship for her research into the feminism of the lives of medieval female saints, which inspired her play Judith and the Saints (longlisted for the 2022 BOLD Playwrights Scheme). She has a Masters Degree in Performance Writing from University of the Arts London.

Lillian’s play, Call Me Suicidal debuted at Riverside Studios in London, followed by a successful run at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Her short play Vaishnavi’s First Christmas was commissioned by Kris.P Productions and performed at their virtual showcase.

In addition to dramatic writing, Lillian’s dedication to writing about the female experience has shaped her career in journalism. As the Editorial Producer at ADDitude Magazine in New York City, her articles ranged from topics such as the prevalence of abusive relationships among women with autism, to a series on the experience of mothers raising non neurotypical children. Her other publications include WebMD, Psycom, Commonweal Magazine, and various literary magazines such as Gasher Journal.

Lillian is looking for a New York City, Los Angeles, or London-based agent to represent her script writing.
